Design Fest 2025 | Typewalk

Join AIGA Maine for a walking tour of Portland’s Old Port, where we’ll explore the city’s historic typography, hand-lettered signs, ghost ads, and visual gems through the eyes of two design pros: Allie Norman and Abby Swain.

We’ll start at Monument Square, meander through cobblestone streets, and wrap up at The Thirsty Pig—just in time for our happy hour. Bonus: every Typewalk attendee gets a free drink ticket to use at the bar.

Meet Your Guides:

Allie Norman is a Portland-based branding and packaging designer, art director, and founder of Studio Garden Party, an agency focused on hospitality and lifestyle clients. Her work has been featured by Maine Home + Design, Logo Lounge, and The Portland Press Herald.

Abby Swain is a visual identity and type designer specializing in custom branding and hand-drawn display typefaces. A MECA&D grad and creative collaborator with Portland Design Co., Abby brings deep typographic knowledge and a love for signage and serifs.
